Supporter Spotlight: Tonkon Torp
Portland-based law firm Tonkon Torp LLP and attorney Edwin (Ned) Perry have been longstanding supporters of Portland YouthBuilders, providing invaluable guidance over the years in real estate, construction, and employment law.
This partnership began in 2000, when Ned and his colleagues at Tonkon Torp provided vital pro bono legal counsel for the development of an intercreditor agreement that enabled PYB to acquire the current school building. Through Ned and his colleagues’ efforts, PYB created a loan agreement bringing together more than a dozen project lenders at terms and interests rates that made the project possible.
A long time volunteer at PYB, Ned has also served on the PYB Board of Directors since 2012, in addition to serving on PYB’s 20th anniversary event committee. Ned has been with Tonkon Torp since 1984 and a partner since 1991, with expertise in commercial litigation law including real estate and construction.
Founded in 1974, Tonkon Torp is currently one of the largest firms in Oregon with over 80 lawyers dedicated to a variety of business and litigation law services, as well as a commitment to supporting local nonprofits like PYB. The firm has been a generous sponsor of PYB fundraising events, including the upcoming Cornhole Classic III - a 20th anniversary celebration and benefit for PYB’s students and programs. Through this partnership, Tonkon Torp has continued to help PYB students achieve stability and long-term success.
